Phoenix, AZ, May 2 - breaking news: As of yesterday, I have departed from CASS.
Remember the soup kitchen, Andre House, that I spoke of in a previous update?
They operate a transitional home for men near 15th Avenue and Van Buren. I was accepted there yesterday, left CASS after almost six months there, moved into the new house, and so far, so good. I share a room with another gentleman, and the setting is a REAL house with a REAL shower and a REAL kitchen with a REAL laundry area and a REAL bed!
They have daily chores which are really not too bad, and everyone gathers as a "community" for dinner each night. They also require guests to be actively seeking work and to find work within 3-6 weeks of entry, and since I have been looking for work since November, that qualifies me - plus I have heard back from one of the companies I submitted a resume to about a possible position. Hopefully there will be an interview within the next few days!
